Games Week on Orange Island: day 1
Games Week kicks off today on Orange Island.
Join us today at 10:00 am SLT for a tour of the many gaming installations we have set up on the island for you to enjoy…
At 11:00 am, Onder Skall, game specialist emeritus, will give us a detailed overview of Games in SL.
At 12:00 pm, join us on the Orange Island Plaza for our first Metaverse Explorers session of the week, to Hollywood, SL’s prime golfing sim, courtesy of MarkTwain White, who’ll provide some insight on designing a golf experience in-world.
And finally, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, the En Garde team (Valentine Janus, Kat Burger, Musique Gable & Rifkin Habsburg) will present and demonstrate their acclaimed turn-based fencing game…

Onder Skall (known in real life as Caleb Booker) is the founder of the Second Life Games website. Onder was a regular contributor to the Second Life Herald as well as New World Notes, before shifting to business in virtual worlds when he became a full-time news editor at Metaversed.com. More recently, he has been working as COO of Clever Zebra, a company focused on running events in virtual worlds.

Golf has come to Second Life, thanks to the ministrations of talented scripter Kanker Greenacre, and the nice new golf club opened by a pair of residents in the Hollywood sim. The Holly Kai Golf Club is run by SL residents MarkTwain White and Nber Medici, and plans monthly tournaments, club championships, and a Second Life Open that any resident can enter. To celebrate Games week on Orange Island, we are proud to introduce the strategic fencing game, created by Rifkin Habsburg and Reiner Knizia, « En Garde ». Rifkin and the En Garde Royal Guarde group (Musique Gable, Valentine Janus & Kat Burger) will join us to talk about this fantastic game and the community around En Garde. Sharpen your swords, adjust your pads and come enjoy some friendly competition on Orange Island En Garde exhibition.
