Who are you ?

My artist RL artist name is MoShi-AsheR I’m from the French-west-Indies, passed most of my teen age years in Montreal (Canada) and now in Paris for 9 years.
I’ve been into music since the longest time first on the promotion side of events  (Parties, Concerts etc)
In the beginning of the 2000’s I was organizing Dance-Hall sound systems in  Paris on the “Péniche Alternat”, I also started a WebRadio which was known as “Panameclectik.com” then I made “RadioAndCo.com”, now since I’m on SL I started “Ziontifik-Radio.com” which is well known in the SL metaverse.

When did you start playing IRL?

I started producing beats like  4 or 5 years ago, I am really not a musician so “dj producer” was the easiest way the access music, I play with Samples mostly. I got a home-studio, where I work with few  singers, rappers, toasters.

When do you start playing on Sl?

I started playing in SL almost right away, that was my first few questions to people I was meeting.
I also built the first Tropical Reggae Resort on SL it was called -ZION RESORT- Most of SL reggae dancehall dj’s  started playing there. Now i play in lots of clubs and festivals  and one UK based WebRadio.

How would you define your musical style ?

I play eclectic kind of sound, I call it “dark side of “rasta” because I play Reggae related type of music ; from reggae dub to roots, dubstep, old school jungle, Drum&Bass etc -Uk sounds-

What do you like the most in the music you play?

Well lets put it that way: I play these kind of music because I love them but not only that. I like the hypnotic style of the sounds I play, I try to induce Trance to people make them feel like they are traveling.

What Music brings to you? What do you hope to give to audience while playing?

To be honest with you, Music in a kind of therapy to me. It bring lots of happiness but also introspection. I hope I bring smiles to the crowd that come to my sets, I also hope they feel like dancing and discovering new sound flavors…

Where is your music available to listen?

I still hope I will put up a RL album together but I already have two albums available on internet: one on jameno.com and one on Beatdigital.com. You can also listen to my music on:

SL brought a lot to my Art, i get a chance to play daily there for i get to practis a lot
I also made friends in real life through SL that help me, guide me in musical journey…

Which are your favorite music related destinations in Sl?
I love playing @ irivibes on saturday for the dubcollective ‘amazing dj’s and nights”. I also love  -The Drome- on the Detroit Sim (I play there on Mondays for Kinetic dubstep night). Club HOME  (thx to Justine to let play late impromptues lol). I got my own sim as well -ZIONTIFIK-RADIO- I also like RL/SL UK club “The Koola”.

What initiative would you like to see in SL that hasn’t been done yet concerning Music ?
I think it is ok the way it is :D

Are they any RL artists you admire or who ve had an influence on your work? Same with SL?
I love NINJA Tune Records and all there DJ’s specially DJ Krush. I listen to loads of Reggae wouldn’t be able to tell wich one is the best but nowadays I get to listen to Michaël Rose ex Black Uruhu lead-singer and Richie Spice.
Since I’m French, I like the rap IAM, especially Akenaton his album “Metec et Mate” from the early 90’s I think this was real musical revolution.
In electro dub I love the French scene the best (we don’t only have cheez we got dub, lol! In a more classical fashion I love “BlueNote Record the Jazz Label” and I listen to Radio NOVA plenty :)
